Jefferson County ADA Compliance and Accessibility
1. Introduction

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA),
Jefferson County will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.
2. ADA Coordinator Contact

Persons with disabilities who plan to attend a meeting being conducted at a Jefferson County facility, and who require auxiliary aids
or services should contact the Human Resources Department at (409) 839-2391. The Human Resources Department
is located in the Annex I Building next to the Jefferson County Courthouse at 1225 Pearl St., Suite 201, Beaumont, TX 77701.

Jefferson County is committed to ensuring that all members of the public, including individuals with disabilities, have equal access to County programs, services, and activities.
This policy establishes guidelines for providing effective communication in compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
4. ADA Grievance Procedure

The ADA Grievance Procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act
of 1990 ("ADA"). It may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis
of disability in the provision of services, activities, programs, or benefits by Jefferson County. The Jefferson
County Personnel Policy governs employment-related complaints of disability discrimination.
5. Title II ADA Requirements & Public Information

Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act requires State and Local Governments to make their programs,
services, and activities accessible to individuals with disabilities. Title II also outlines requirements for
self-evaluation and planning, making reasonable modifications to policies, practices, and procedures where necessary
to avoid discrimination; identifying architectural barriers; and communicating effectively with people with hearing,
vision, and speech disabilities.
